Gooooood morning, BASS HEADS!!
Hope everyone is having a great day so far. We’re getting everything ready to go for the Victoria’s Secret event, and we’re even more stoked than before because late last night we got a special visit from our sponsor man Jon Tan @THEBOX and he dipped us out in some seriously dope gear. In other news, if you didn’t catch the post from NatasK’s lesson yesterday, check out the post called “meat and potatoes.” Pretty sweet ish!! Mmm mm! No no, not that kind. I’m talking about what really makes up a song.. the sounds.. the beats and drops.. Ya know, the meat and potatoes! That’s exactly what NatasK is explaining right now in the lesson he’s teaching. He says “it’s all about timing.” Know your breakdowns and line up those drum hits! He knows the steps and techniques, and is pretty amped to be teaching it to a younger generation.
So come on, let the beat go… NatasK knows how to get down with it, you know!!! If you think you’d like to learn what it’s all about, one-on-one DJ lessons with him might be just the thing you need. And it takes place in his own personal studio, so no equipment required. Learn the ins and outs of spinning records and have fun doing it. We’re getting pretty stoked for the Victoria’s Secret GET LUCKY event going down this Saturday at the Millcreek Mall… Myself and NatasK will be in the store from 1 til 5, live blogging and providing tunes for your shopping pleasure!! This special event will have all kinds of in-store specials and promos, plus you’ll get to see all the new Spring fashions Victoria’s Secret has to offer. These events always turn out great so you don’t want to miss it… be sure to come see us and get your shop on!
The next CrookedBASS event will be taking place on the first Thursday at the start of April… a month from tomorrow. It might seem far but it’ll be here before you guys know it. NatasK, Matter and Ghost Alive will be there to feed your ears with bass, plus we’re bringing in special guest Jeff Bujak. If you don’t know about this guy, he’s “a Northampton, MA based keyboardist/producer/composer who has fathered a new style of Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) that dives deep in the waters of complex live electronica. Following no rules or boundaries with his songwriting, tied with his fathomless talent of live improvisation, Bujak is carving a new path in the music scene one live performance at a time.” You can read more and listen @ JeffBujak.com
